A Pain Management Solution for People Who Can't Take Oral Ibuprofen

(ARA) - Leon Flottemesch, 55, of Hudson, Wisc., use to take 12 to16 ibuprofen tablets a day to combat the pain in his knees.

"Because I am overweight, I have had bad knees for most of my life. I had the right one replaced in April of 2005, the left one about six months later," says Flottemesch who adds that the left knee never really seemed to heal after the surgeries. "The doctors determined the pain was being caused by an infection around the joints. The problem is if you don't get the swelling down, extra fluid in the joints is a breeding ground for bacteria and infection."

But after he underwent stomach surgery, he was advised by his physician against taking oral pain medication. "I didn't realize once you have stomach surgery you can't take oral ibuprofen anymore because it may irritate your stomach and leave you more susceptible to indigestion and bleeding ulcers," he says. "If I had it to do all over again, I would have taken care of my knee problem first."

One day while complaining to a friend about his predicament, he found a solution. That friend recommended he try Ibunex, a new topical Ibuprofen cream he had heard about that was being developed by Osceola, Wisc.-based Core Products International, Inc.

"The problem with oral ibuprofen is the damage it can do to your digestive system. As it moves through your body, the small amount that finally reaches its target just doesn't have a lot of punch, so people often take larger and larger amounts to control pain," says Phil Mattison, president of Core Products.

"A single pump of Ibunex contains a mixture of Ibuprofen, Glucosamine, Chondroitin Sulfate, MSM and Bromelain. All of these key ingredients are known to have wide benefits in joint health management of pain and inflammation," says Mattison. "Ibunex lets you use a small dose applied directly on the target site."

"When my knees are hurting, I get relief using the Ibunex in just five minutes," says Flottemesch. "When I was taking the oral ibuprofen, it would take 30 minutes or more until I got relief."

Flottemesch says now that he has his pain under control, he's now using Ibunex only a couple of times a week instead of several times a day. He says his next step will likely be to switch over to Ibunex's companion product, Gluconex, which is intended for long term chronic pain management and aid in joint health.

Ibunex and Gluconex are available for purchase at doctor's offices, chiropractor's offices and through athletic trainers and physical therapists. They are also available for purchase online at www.coreproductslaboratories.com.
