Products For Your Home: Choice Words for Choosy Buyers

Anyone who thinks choice is a good thing has never been to a home
show. I decided to drop in on one recently to check out the goods.
Who knew there were so many things to put in, on, and around your
home? If you want to increase the value of your home by adding a
few bells and whistles here and there, don't go into it blindly. To
choose products that give the most bang for your buck, think in
this order: health, wealth and happiness.
Health
As the old saying goes, "if you don't have your health, you don't
have anything." And this definitely applies to making home
purchases. Before you invest in that beautiful arbor to go around
your pond, select the products that will improve the health of your
home.
Water purification systems are an excellent investment to ensure
healthy drinking water for your family. If you are considering a
new paint job, go for non-toxic and low-voc paints to protect your
lungs. New flooring on your list? Go for options that do not
contain formaldehyde to prevent off-gassing.
One of the most important purchases you can make for your home is a
whole home air filtration system such as the American Standard
AccuClean. It removes up to 99.98 percent of allergens and
pollutants in the air, things that regular air filters let fly on
by. And clean air is vital to having a healthy home.
Wealth
Purchases that save you money in the long run are always good
investments for your home. Solar panels used to heat water can
easily pay for themselves in less than three years. A programmable
thermostat will shave off heating and cooling costs every time you
run your system. Double-pane windows with high-efficient glass will
also save you big bucks on your utility bills.
If you are thinking about getting some new appliances, look for the
Energy Star label to ensure you have an efficient piece of
equipment. Energy Star products may cost the same or slightly more
than those that don't qualify for the label -- but they cost less
to use. These products won't just save you money, but will also
help reduce the amount of carbon emissions from your home. The
Energy Star label can be found on refrigerators to washing machines
to air conditioners, including those from American Standard Heating
and Air Conditioning.
Happiness
After you ensure a healthy and cost-saving home, you can finally
splurge on all of those tasty little tidbits here and there that
make a house a home. Go through your home and see how it appeals to
the senses. Think visually. Is it time for a new paint job? Does
the flooring need to be refinished? What about the sounds in your
home? Can you finally indulge in that new home sound system that
you've been admiring?
Think about the surfaces in your home. Are the counters nice and
smooth? Does your furniture feel inviting? Now sniff around a bit.
If you smell any lingering odors, think back to the health of your
home and get that air filtration system, such as AccuClean by
American Standard. It even removes things like smoke and odors from
your home! Where taste is concerned, check out your kitchen, the
heart of the home. Is it efficient and well-organized? Do you have
equipment that is easy and enjoyable to use?
Remember, a happy home doesn't come together when all of these
things are finally met. Happiness is in the process. So enjoy your
home today as you make it into the home you will have tomorrow.
