Every year they have the annual Agganis foundation All-star Football Classic in Mass. This year the North beat up on the south for a thirty three to seven victory. The Harry Agganis Foundation, named after the legendary athlete who played for Boston U and the Boston Red Sox. The fund was founded in 1955 after Mr. Agganis passed away at the tender age of twenty six years old.

The point of the foundation is to provide college scholarships to student athletes. The organization has granted over $1.1 million dollars to almost 800 students.

As you can see there are a number of different avenues for athletes to get scholarships. Football scholarships can be augmented by additional funding from a number of sources but you must be willing to find them.
