Natural Stress And Anxiety Relief: Some Facts
Natural Stress And Anxiety Relief: Some Facts by Frank
McGinty
Because of the pace of our modern life it's quite a hassle to look
for natural stress and anxiety relief, isn't it? It's easier to go
for the quick fix in a pill or a medicine bottle. But since stress
and anxiety can make our lives a misery - and can eventually
destroy good health - we need to take this more seriously. No one
can put a price on having the energy and enthusiasm to do what we
want in life, so it can be a wise investment indeed to learn about
natural stress and anxiety relief strategies.
When To Visit Your Doctor
So many of us - especially men! - avoid seeing the doctor. Bad news
is never welcome, is it? And since a doctor's advice isn't free,
when you're stressed you don't want to fork out for something you
already know about. So should you ever consult your doctor for
stress and anxiety relief?
Make that appointment if you are having seriously disturbed eating
and/or sleeping patterns. See the doctor if you feel a sense of
overwhelm and worry about 'carrying on' with life. Even if you feel
you can cope, you need help if worry is dominating your day-to-day
existence. Follow any advice given and take any medication, but you
can also do much on your own to promote natural stress and anxiety
relief.
Lots of Lovely Fresh Air!
Here's what to do. When you next experience anxiety or stress,
observe your breathing. You can even get someone to do this for
you. Gasping, hyperventilation and speeded-up breathing are signs
of stress, and when they persist they only make matters worse. The
brain loses the supply of oxygen it needs to function normally.
It's no surprise, then, that this makes you feel worse.
When everything seems to be getting on top of you, tell yourself
you're going to get back in charge. You do this by taking control
of your breathing: regular, slow and full breaths are the order of
the day - and this is one of the best forms of natural stress and
anxiety relief. Your heart rate and blood pressure will normalize
and straight away you'll experience a feeling of well-being. This
will give you the confidence to move forward.
However, it's not always easy to start this deep breathing for
natural stress and anxiety relief. In that case, try this tip. Open
a bottle of essential oils. Put it to your nose and sniff! The
aroma of the oils will instantly help you to take deeper breaths.
This is an instinctive reaction.
Small bottles of essential oils are readily available in stores.
Lavender, tea tree and frankincense are frequently used. Another is
Bergamot, although it's not quite as popular. These oils are not
manufactured, they are extracted from fruit and plants, and this
organic quality makes them first-class resources for natural stress
and anxiety relief. Many people say that just having that small
bottle to hand gives them more confidence!
