5 Proven Best Openings When You Write Sales Letter by

To write sales letter in a great way, you should first focus on
getting your reader's attention. While a headline takes the highest
responsibility for that, it's obviously NOT the only one. There are
also openings that you can count on. This is done mostly in the
first paragraph of your ads or sales letter.
You can do one of these great openings for best results:
1. Asking A Specific Question
By asking a specific question, you can address your reader
precisely and catch his/her attention. in no time. Keep in mind
that you should choose the question very carefully. It has to be
tightly related to the product/service you're promoting and, on top
of all, the question should be able to pop the reader's curiousity
out of the sales letter.
2. Referring to The Latest Trend
People doesn't want rehashed products, however good you do the
repackaging (new graphics, bonuses added, etc). Period. What if you
sell one? You need to make it a connection with the latest trend on
the industry (but first, make sure that the product is not obselete
and still worth buying). For example, if you're selling e-book
about getting free search engine traffic, you can write sales
letter that in the opening says that it will be a perfect companion
to the Web 2.0 methods.
3. Problems and Solutions
This is the real deal. People are looking for solutions to their
problems, so when they see a product they're likely asking themself
"how can this product SOLVE my problems?". It's your job to address
that in one or two sentences and present it beautifully when you
write sales letter. That said, it's best to do some research first
on one biggest problem your prospects are facing and suffering
from.
4. Benefits vs Features
Here you have to first identify what the product you're promoting
serves for. Is it a need or a want? Is there the sense of urgency
for people to buy? The golden rule is this: if it actually solves
problems, than you have to emphasize more on benefits, not
features. On the other hand, if it is a complementary or only
satisfactory-related one, than you need to write sales letter that
focuses on the features.
5. Mention Some Research or Statistics
Statistics do sell! They double the impact to the prospects (in
term of selling) because they're representing the majority of
public's opinions. People believes it as the result of in-depth
research and study. When doing it, don't forget to give credits to
those who deserve. And remember, don't fake it! While statistics
can boost your credibility overnight, it can also crush it - if
done the wrong way.
